The Effect of ObamaCare in America

The Effect of ObamaCare in America

To the impoverished, ObamaCare is seen as a blessing. To the economy, ObamaCare is seen as harm. With this controversial subject, there will never come a civil closure in which all parties, citizens, and individuals agree on one idea. Simply, people under the ObamaCare mostly experience the benefit of the doubt that taxpayers’ suffer.  Inevitably, the negatives outweigh the positives when it comes from the perspective of high-income earners and large businesses.
From the standpoint of ObamaCare users and small businesses, ObamaCare provides a sense of relief. Millions that are uninsured, that cannot afford, are now exposed to health insurance. Not only does this cover seniors, ObamaCare provides coverage for children and young adults up to 26--who are still dependent on their parents. With this, it is as if Americans are treated equally, giving each individual the right to have health insurance and coverage for unexpected personal misfortunes. Not only does ObamaCare aid the sick, it helps provide preventative care, which does have the ability to keep those under ObamaCare out of the hospital for longer periods of time, meaning that the high costs of ObamaCare could have the possibility of going down. For small business, owners are aided with tax credits up to 50% of their employees’ health insurance premium costs, according to ObamaCare facts. ObamaCare can also be a huge relief for small business owners because many struggle providing health or any other kinds benefits to their workers. By sacrificing benefits, small businesses have a higher opportunity to grow and flourish—the marginal benefit outweighs the marginal cost.

With higher-income earners and large businesses, ObamaCare has taken a negative toll as it primarily considers the welfare.  With impressions and stereotypes of the poor, it is thought that the impoverished are lazy and are contrary to progressing change. Keeping these thoughts in mind, clearly those with higher income see how unfair it is to provide for people who did not work as hard as they did. The top 2% of businesses and persons are required to pay extra taxes. But why pay more when you have worked hard for your success?  With ObamaCare booming and thriving and users living prosperous with the aid, large businesses consider the government too intervening. With ObamaCare collecting high taxes, businesses cannot flourish efficiently. There could even be a loss in business because they are not profiting. Instead of being a mixed but freer economy, businesses sense the movement to more of a mixed economy but with more command as the government interferes with a businesses growth, which leads to the overall growth of the economy.

With such a vast gap between the rich and poor in America, there is no possible way in which all social classes can agree on one thing when it comes to business and health. When one class thrives for success, another class cascades down—a constant teeter-totter or a seesaw. Unless the gap is reduced or diminished, America will never come to a conclusion, leaving ObamaCare as a positive and a negative factor in the United States.

  1. I am glad that someone brought up this topic because, before this post, I wasn't very sure what ObamaCare really was or what it was about. This really helped me see both sides of this controversy and helped me see why it is causing such controversy. I agree that it seems unfair to those who have to pay higher taxes even though they have worked so hard for their money. By the way it sounds, this idea of ObamaCare is making healthcare a public good, which I don't know if I fully agree with. I understand that there are those that can't afford healthcare, and that sometimes we can't control our health, but if they are trying to give everyone equal rights why are they taking away from those who have actually self earned their health care benefits? Health insurance is definitely an essential thing to have because health costs can be very expensive, so this definitely raises awareness to the situation.

  2. I could not agree with you more when you say that Obama is helpful for the poor, but is doing harm to the economy. More people are relying on the government for food, healthcare, and jobs now more than ever and it is starting to become a large problem. However, i disagree with your statement saying the top 2% of businesses and people are being taxed unfairly. The top 2% of money-making Americans makes about 90% of all the money made in the country. They are the wealthiest of the wealthy, and having higher taxes for them to pay seems fair to me, for the sole reason that they have way more money than anyone else in the country.

  3. ObamaCare, it's necessary for the poor and at the same time providing more job opportunities in the medical field. But, not everyone wishes to pursue a career in that field, and it's ultimately taking a wrecking ball to our economy. I agree with what most of you discuss in your post such as how it's harming the economy and I'm glad someone had the ability to actually consult the topic.

  4. Thank you for posting this on ObamaCare. So many different industries are going to be impacted due to these changes. In the realm of medicine so many doctors are going to be leaving their clinics and opening up their own separate practice from the insurance companies, which would then lower some of the insurance company's money in the top 2%. But also getting care for health will then be changed, hopefully it won't impact too many lives.

  5. ObamaCare is a very important topic to talk about especially in these times. Like you said the high wealth really don't want to spend any of their taxes on people that don't work as hard as they do. In all fairness people should try to help out people that are less fortunate to afford the care that they need. If people just don't complain about the taxes, people can get the care they need and possible feel good about helping out people.

  6. Having relief and help in today’s economy is something that is really welcomed. It helps to lift some weight off the shoulders of others. Many aren’t able to afford many of the things they should have such as health insurance. But with Obama care Seniors, children and young adults are able to be covered and have such a worrying weight lifted from their worries. Things like this that can help remove one more thing from many other’s lists of things to try and take care of. Obama Care really is something that is helpful in today’s economy with not only sick, those young and old but also small business. It really is enlightening that such a system from the government is out there to help the people who really need it the most.

  7. I agree that Obama Care has played a negative toll on society. If people work hard for their money, why should they give it to the poor? On the other hand, what is the poor doing to better themselves? In most cases, the poor isn't doing much because they have lost of hope and faith. Sometimes no matter what the poor is doing they can't get out of the hole that they have created for themselves. But that doesn't mean that the poor shouldn't try and rely on the government for help for healthcare, food, and a job.

  8. Brittany, I couldn't agree more that Obama care is a negative to society. People should have to work for there money or have some other compensation for getting big checks. They are getting paid to do absolutely nothing by American who are actually working hard. The poor shouldn't rely on the government for there pay checks.

  9. I agree that Obama Care takes a toll on the economy, especially at a time like this. Those in the top 2% see Obama Care as a “free-rider” problem because they are the ones paying extra. At a time where our national debt continues to skyrocket Obama Care is certainly not encouraging many Americans to spend. It may come as a relief to small businesses as you stated, but small business owners are not necessarily in the situation to buy luxurious items anyways. Members of the highest income brackets are the ones that create jobs by opening business, but there income is slightly less with these new taxations.

  10. This was a great topic to write about and you did a good job explaining the pros and cons and seeing both sides of the biggest controversy in the US. But, I always thought the law would be passed and it is because of so many Americans are in poverty. I can see where the "higher" class is coming from but i believe the lifelyhood of a HUMAN BEINGS life is a little bit more important than an extra $100 added to a millionaires taxes, I can only imagine how hard and how much his life is and changed.

  11. I never truly understood what ObamaCare was going to do until a little while ago and in my opinion, I think it's ridiculous. I don't think those below the poverty line should be able to get free healthcare along with free everything else for the most part when they either don't work or work a minimum wage job. While it is a cheaper alternative or an opportunity in general for many people, I believe that those who aren't eligible to obtain it for free aren't struggling greatly and they can afford other healthcare. Also, the taxes that are going to be inflicted on everyone is a bit annoying to me, everyone should pay the same tax percentage in my opinion so it's proportional.
