Trump's Economic Policies

Donald J. Trump the current Republican nominee, has the best economic plan for america. His plan will cut taxes, help small business thrive, and jumpstart the American economy to grow the fastest it has in years. According to an article written by Richard Rubin of the Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump’s economic policy will “lower federal revenue collections by at least 10.9%”(Rubin). According to some economists, lower taxes will help jump start small businesses, and help grow the American economy, of course this comes at the opportunity cost of some social programs, but it will be worth it in the long run. With these tax cuts Donald Trump is projected to “increase long-run gross domestic product by between 6.9% and 8.2% and create between 1.8 million and 2.2 million jobs”(Rubin). This is much higher than the world bank’s 2015’s projected growth of 2.43,This growth will help jump the nation in the correct direction, by creating jobs and lowering unemployment, Donald Trump will help make america great again. According to David Malpass of the New York times, “Mr. Trump would immediately halt the crush of new federal regulations on business.” This loosening of governmental regulation is what this nation needs to help grow the economy at a faster rate. Donald Trump is the President that America needs to help grow the economy, and jump start this great nation.

  1. The opportunity cost of growing the economy has the opportunity cost of some social programs, but for the most part it seems that his economic plan will be successful. We have learned that Immigration can also have a positive affect on the economy, so I would have suggested you mentioned Trumps ideas to allow Mexicans the ability to obtain work visas, in order to utilize the productivity of migrant workers.

  2. I agree with Johnny but what happens if some things don't go his way and he has to come up with a plan and he uses one of his non thought out ideas? Donald has many good ideas for our economy but he has a lot of ideas that only a select group could agree. I do like how you discussed in depth how he can help us with creating more small business and allowing Mexicans on work visas.

  3. Though I agree it is important to jumpstart the business in our country and decrease governmental influence in our economy. It has been shown that there are over 180 new business regulations put in over the past 8 years that is causing our rank in economic freedom to decline. By relieving some of this, the small business sector should be able to grow. The only cause for concern would be that with this more laissez-faire style would cause us to swing back to time similar to the Gilded Age of the US where big businesses had all the power and the rich got richer. If done right I think Trump’s plan could bring back the falling middle class and allow a more equitable income distribution, but this would require the hard work of his cabinet and congress to make certain the lower class doesn’t lose more than they already have.

  4. I do agree with what you said about creating more business but we can't just think of creating more business cause some of the stuff that we sell comes from other country. In my own opinion I feel like we should allow Mexicans on Work visas like others said. Also changing the economy is better but relationships between us and other countries could also be improve too.

  5. Although I agree that it is important to create new jobs, I don't see how Trump plans to lower taxes. It is a good idea in theory, but how does he actually plan to put this idea into action? His saying "Make America Great Again" is quite popular and with some of his ideas it has become clear that maybe he would be able to improve numerous economic problems such as lowering unemployment and jump-starting small businesses, but how often do presidents completely follow through on all of their plans? Trump has good ideas it is just hard to assume that the economy can actually improve from just one person's plan. According to www.politifact.com there are currently 93 million people unemployed. Would Trump's 2.2 million new jobs really make an impact? By doing so are other things being forgotten about? I agree that Trump has plans to help, facts have just not sold me on the idea that his difference will be that significant.

  6. I think that the fact that trump wants to help small businesses thrive is quite important, but is lowering taxes really going to help. If he really wanted to help small businesses wouldn't he just lowering taxes specifically for the small businesses rather than everybody because people need taxes to fund things that need maintenance. Without enough taxes there will not be enough money to do these things I'm not saying that I enjoy high taxes but we do need to the taxes at a stable level that brings in enough money.
